Hall Technique
On occasion, a child may present with cavities but might not be emotionally prepared for traditional approaches to dental treatment. Aside from practicing oral sedation, Dr. Karen is implementing non-invasive approaches to provide better, smoother experiences for her little patients.
The Hall Technique is a passive fitting of a full coverage silver crown. Space for this passive fitting is created using traditional orthodontic elastic spacers for a week — very similar to orthodontic band fitting preparation.
The tooth of interest must not have decay into the nerve, otherwise this therapy is not a viable option. The treatment is easy peasy — a child bites gently on a cotton roll over the best fitting silver crown until a secure fitting is determined. Clean it up, and you are done! This has been a marvelous option for many kids!
